With over twenty years of experience in custom manufacture, Diamond America specializes in providing high quality, durable and reliable extrusion equipment. As well as producing a standard range of extruders and related equipment, the team specializes in optimization of the extrusion process and design and development of custom machines. From the newest design technologies to manufacturing the highest precision components, Diamond America engineers have the knowledge to deliver innovative, efficient process solutions.

Before joining Akron Tool & Die in 1991, Mike worked over 13 years in accounting and finance roles for Roadway Express of Akron and Roadway Package System (now part of FedEx) of Pittsburgh. His undergraduate accounting degree from The University of Akron, and MBA from Kent State University provided a solid financial background for work in the transportation industry and eventually in the field of manufacturing. He relied heavily upon this financial foundation when he became the third family generation to own the company, purchasing the assets in 1993. Relying on a superb team of production, sales, and administrative staff, the company has enjoyed steady and stable growth over the past 25 years.

Drew has been with the company since 2010 and he brings 25 years of machining and extrusion experience. After completing college at Kent State University he went on to became a journeyman Machinist. Drew served as Plant Manager at The Bonnot Company where he worked for 15 years gaining knowledge in a wide range of extrusion processes as well as applications. After leaving Bonnot, he was employed by Brilex industries where he was able to use and expand his knowledge as Continuous Improvement manager/Process specialist. During his career he has continued to further his education and has served on Advisory Boards of local vocational schools, as well as consulting with a local college regarding their technologies programs. In his spare time he enjoys writing about himself in the third person.

OPERATIONS MANAGER
Steve has been with Akron Tool & Die since 1994. He received his journeyman machinist certification in 1998. In 2007, he transitioned from shop floor machining to management duties that included shop operations, purchasing, and estimating. As operations manager, Steve has focused on continuous improvement through modernization of machine tools and processing strategies. Prior to Akron Tool & Die Steve was employed by Quality Mold Inc. as a tire mold finisher.

Mark helps customers make good decisions for their business by using a diverse combination of education, industry, and functional experience. His toolbox includes a MBA, BS Chemistry, and experience in product development, tech service, and various leadership roles in sales, marketing, and operations. Mark joined Diamond America in early 2019 and is working hard to become a reliable and trusted resource for Diamond America and their customers.

Jim joined the Diamond America team as a project engineer in July of 2018. He received his BSME from The University of Akron where he was active in SAE supermileage student competition along with assisting the concrete canoe design team. He began his career as a manufacturing engineer for Akron Standard/MicroPoise, aiding in the production of tire balance and uniformity testing equipment. Later, he moved into a design engineer role at Reduction Engineering/Maag, designing pulverizers, pelletizers and auxiliary equipment. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, biking, firearm/air rifle marksmanship, and collecting rare videogames.

Carl, with over 35 years manufacturing experience, has been with ATD since 1997. As lead machinist for 2 decades, he was able to share knowledge of our core products to newer employees and take the lead on new projects as they were developing. Promoted to Quality Manager in 2016, then Production Manager in 2018, Carl has a unique perspective. While increased production and throughput are always at the top of every list, every decision is weighed to safeguard ATD’s 80 year legacy of quality assurance.

Greg helps customers find complex solutions utilizing his strong technical background. Greg worked in the automotive parts world for over 10 years selling full performance builds and OEM replacement parts directly to high performance shops and general repair facilities. His ability to understand complex technical information and convey it to our engineering team is a great benefit to our clients. Greg joined Diamond America in early 2022 and is already building long lasting and trustworthy relationships with our customers. Greg is always willing to go above and beyond to provide top notch customer service for our clients. Greg has an associate degree in Automotive Engineering/Technology from Columbus State Community College and is currently wrapping up a bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Ohio University. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, drag racing, karting, and tinkering with anything that has wheels and an engine.
